/ words that move - a guide for yoga teachers
In the past eight years of teaching - and six years of organising and co- hosting 70+ retreats across Europe and Asia - I’ve seen how the right words can shift a room. I began this journey fresh out of my 200-hour training, in a new country, leaving my old career behind and feeling unsure of where to start.
What guided me forward was a clear desire not to just teach classes but to create experiences that truly touched people. Over time I learned that themes, storytelling, and intentional language are what turn a yoga class into something students carry home in their hearts. A single poem or metaphor can open emotion, deepen reflection, and create real impact.
This little notebook shares five of those texts - pieces I’ve used in classes and retreats that have moved students deeply. Use them to anchor your themes, close a practice, or bring meaning into stillness.
